Crossbow Finished Pics

Here's a pic of it cocked and some showing the early stages of binding on the prod.

  1. Hi, I like the simple cocking mechanism. I'm wondering, do you notch the bolts to accept the string or does the string just "push" the bolt out when firing?

  2. Hi, The back of the bolt is dead flat, this is generally true of crossbow bolts but they can be slightly concave. A fat string and the correct depth of groove in the track ensures the string pushes at the centre of the back of the bolt. If it pushes too low, it can slip under the back of the bolt flipping it upwards. The retaining clip pressing down on the back of the bolt also helps to prevent this.
